It helps to avoid the costs of installing new fiber lines in the field by allowing the full 100Mbps Ethernet bandwidth to be extended over twisted pair of 2 wire or coaxial cable. Cover in a small plug-in form factor (SFP) module box, it is designed for plug-and-play installation to any 100BaseFx Ethernet unit with an MSA compatible port.
